SFBC&TS will RESUME normal operations on Friday, September 30, 2022.

We are praying for all those who have been affected by this catastrophic hurricane and are now mobilizing resources to help.


HURRICANE UPDATES (As of 9/28/22 – Wednesday @ 5pm): SFBC&TS is monitoring Hurricane Ian.

SFBC&TS has extended the SUSPENSION of classes and business operations through Thursday, September 29.

Essential personnel should communicate with their supervisors

regarding reporting assignments for Thursday, Sept. 29.

HURRICANE UPDATES (As of 9/28/22 – Wednesday @ 1pm): SFBC&TS is monitoring Hurricane Ian.

Conditions are expected to deteriorate throughout the day today. Please continue to exercise proper caution. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with isolated amounts up to 8 inches are possible, bringing storm totals to 6 to 8 inches with isolated amounts up to 12 inches. Flash-flooding will be possible.

Tornadoes embedded in showers and thunderstorms within the outer rainbands will continue to be possible today.

HURRICANE UPDATES (As of 9/27/22 – TUESDAY at 2pm): SFBC&TS is monitoring Hurricane Ian.

Based on the current track of Hurricane Ian and the latest update from the National Hurricane Center, SFBC&TS classes and business operations will be SUSPENDED starting Tuesday, September 27 at 6:00 PM and Wednesday, September 28.

Some classes may opt for Zoom meetings, please check with your professor. Staff should follow the direction of their supervisor regarding whether you should report to campus or work remotely on Wednesday.

We will provide additional communication on whether it is safe and appropriate to resume normal operations on Thursday, September 29. Once this is determined, an ‘ALL CLEAR’ will be sent through our emergency management messaging system.

HURRICANE UPDATES (As of 9/27/22 – TUESDAY at 11am): SFBC&TS is monitoring Hurricane Ian.

Our area is currently under a tropical storm watch. A tropical storm watch means tropical storm winds are possible within the next 48 hours.

With strong tropical winds and rain comes the possibility of isolated tornadoes and local flooding.

Please be extremely careful. Do not walk or drive through standing water.

Currently, there are no operational changes to SFBC&TS.

HURRICANE UPDATES (As of 9/27/22 – TUESDAY at 7am): SFBC&TS is monitoring Hurricane Ian.

Based on the latest storm track, South Florida could begin to experience effects from the system by Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. It remains too soon to determine exact timing, location and magnitude of any potential impact to South Florida. Excessive rainfall and flooding, damaging wind and tornadoes are possible.

Currently, there are no operational changes to SFBC&TS.

HURRICANE UPDATES (As of 9/26/22 – Monday at 5:30pm): We continue to monitor the path of Hurricane Ian. While we are currently not in the cone, always remember the cone represents the predicted path of the center of the storm. It does not indicate where effects from a storm may be felt.

There is the possibility of isolated heavy rain, localized flooding, and strong winds over the next few days.

There currently are no changes to our services or closures. However, if we experience strong storm-like conditions, this could change.

Please review your storm plans and make sure you are prepared for this and future storms.
