Professor Pear accepted Christ in 1982. Has has taught communication and English at the college level since 2003. He earned an A. A. from Edison Community College (now Florida SouthWestern State College), a B. S. in communication from Florida State University (1988), a Master of Arts in Public Affairs Journalism from Regent University, and a Master of Education: TESOL, from Regent University (2020). He has also completed 24 hours of post-graduate work in communication at Regent and Gonzaga universities and additional graduate work in English education at Nova Southeastern University. He is currently pursuing an Education Doctorate at Regent University. Professor Pear is also a marathon swimmer and has swum the circumference of Key West three times and did a 10K swim in Bermuda. He uses his swims to raise money for missions.
