Dr. Becky Emerson was born in Guyana, South America. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and Masters Diploma in Christian Ministry from Prairie Bible Institute. She completed her Masters of Divinity with Asbury Theological Seminary and Doctor of Ministry with Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

She has taught at South Florida Bible College and Theological Seminary (SFBC) since the summer of 2014. Dr. Emerson is also SFBC’s Chaplain. She is a visiting professor at Hebron Bible College in Para, Suriname and has also been a visiting professor at Doon Bible College in Dheradun, India. She has served as the principal of MAP (Ministry Apprentice Path), a church-based training program for laymen and laywomen in ministry (2008-2014). As an itinerant speaker and educator, she is passionate about God’s Kingdom prophetically unfolding in the West vs Non-West Ministry Trends, Local and Global Church Life, Pastoral and Missional Ministry, and the Gender-Race-Socioeconomic Equality movements.

She is a practical theologian whose life embodies an effective blend of academy and church. She is a dynamic non-traditional teacher and mentor with a wide range of ministry experience in church life, cross-cultural pastoring, small group mentoring, and equipping people from all walks of life to realize their God-given vocation. She is an elder and member of Hope Church.

Dr. Emerson enjoys watching the sunrise, sitting by the ocean, painting, swimming, and watching tennis.
