Acquisition and Use of Information

This section discloses SFBC&TS’ data gathering and information use. SFBC&TS utilizes the services of a professional web-hosting provider. SFBC&TS, itself, does not collect, analyze, or disseminate Internet protocol (IP) addresses; however, our hosting provider routinely captures this information only for the purposes of diagnosing server problems; performing system administration; investigating fraud cases, and security violations. SFBC&TS does not have access, nor requests access, to this information. IP addresses do not link to anything personally identifiable, and visitors surfing to SFBC&TS’ web site remain anonymous. However, SFBC&TS will instruct its hosting provider to provide any non-personal information (e.g., IP addresses) as required by law to comply with a court order or subpoena, or other lawful request made under local, state, or federal statutes or regulations.

SFBC&TS captures personal information as specifically identified and requested on our web site. SFBC&TS does not and will not share or sell personal or non-personal information to any third party or external organization. The information is strictly used (1) to enroll a student into the college or seminary; (2) to comply with any local, state, and federal statutes governing SFBC&TS’ educational enterprises; and (3) to contact current students and alumni to confirm privacy data for updates, important notices, etc. However, SFBC&TS will provide any personal information as required by law to comply with a court order or subpoena, or other lawful request made under local, state, or federal statutes or regulations.   Back to Top

Email

SFBC&TS requires all current and potential students to have a viable and current email identification (ID). By law, an email ID is not considered private, personal, or confidential information. SFBC&TS does not and will not share or sell any email IDs to any external organization or third party. SFBC&TS uses email IDs to contact its students, potential students, alumni, and visitors who have requested information from SFBC&TS via the web site. SFBC&TS reserves the right to email its alumni and visitors. These emails are limited to notifications of upcoming events, news, etc. These include, but are not limited to, newsletters, surveys, contests, promotional opportunities, services, new classes, solicitations, etc. (If you do not wish to receive such emails, please contact the Webmaster at SFBC&TS. You must provide your name and email ID.  Note: If you do not provide the requested information, your request cannot be honored. Your email ID will be removed from the list within two business days from the receipt of your email.) Current, active students of SFBC&TS may not refuse such emails, as students are required to maintain a viable and current email ID. Alumni who participate on SFBC&TS’ web site through a personalized listing (nominal yearly fee required) of their name, degree earned, and year graduated, are required to maintain a viable and current email ID. As long as a listing is maintained, an email ID is required and alumni may not refuse promotional or informational emails from SFBC&TS.

SFBC&TS has a web site process designed to combat SPAM.  Throughout this web site  you will note that specific words are "Green" and bolded.  These words represents a SFBC&TS email ID which always precedes the rest of the standard email address, which is @sfbc.edu.  We regret visitors cannot click on an email link for a pop-up email screen.  Instead, highlight the green word, copy it, paste it into your email message system of choice, and complete the email address by adding:  @sfbc.edu.  While we acknowledge this is somewhat inconvenient, it does permit us to fight SPAM.    We hope you will understand our purpose and bear with us.  Please know we truly appreciate your understanding and patience.  For any questions you may have, please contact the Manager of IT at SFBC&TS.
