Baccalaureate Degrees

All baccalaureate degree programs at South Florida Bible College require a minimum of thirty-six semester hours of general education, and thirty semester hours of biblical studies.  In addition, they require a core of professional studies.  Thoroughly review each degree program, below, for the required professional studies.

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biblical Studies, the graduate should be able to:

  1. Explain Scripture with accuracy and skill.
  2. Demonstrate a thorough acquaintance with Bible content.
  3. Demonstrate a scholarly grasp of systematized theology.

On completion of the Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Business Management, the graduate should be able to:

  1. Develop team leadership skills such as recruiting and training.
  2. Learn patterns of devotional practice and personal spiritual growth that will equip him for leadership positions.
  3. Comprehend the dynamics of interpersonal relationships, so he/she will be able to deal creatively and constructively with people.
  4. Grasp basic concepts of business administration and develop the skills essential for providing effective leadership.

On completion of the Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Clinical Counseling, the graduate should be able to:

  1. Integrate biblical knowledge with psychological methodology so as to function as an efficient counselor.
  2. Be conversant with an array of psychological approaches, both Christian and secular, including theoretical and applied principles.
  3. Display a basic competence in interviewing skills and psychological techniques.
  4. Utilize the knowledge of how diverse personalities respond differently to psychology and evangelism.
  5. Show an uncompromising commitment Christian principles and the preeminence of scriptural truth in the midst of scientific empiricism and humanistic biases.
  6. Show familiarity with the classical personality theories.
  7. Demonstrate familiarity with the basic principles of psychological research.
  8. Explain Scripture with accuracy and skill.

  3. Comprehend the dynamics of interpersonal relationships, so as a pastor he/she will be able to deal creatively and constructively with the people issues he/she faces in pastoral ministry and counseling.
  4. Grasp basic concepts of church administration and develop the skills essential for providing effective leadership in the local church.
  5. Enhance skills already in use in the ministry.
  6. Explain Scripture with accuracy and skill.

Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry criteria:  The Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry is designed for the individual who desires to enter into the area of the pastorate.  It will prepare those who wish to become youth ministers or who wish to continue on to earn a seminary degree.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Religious Education

On completion of the Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Education, the graduate should be able to:

  1. Supervise and direct a local church education program.
  2. Administrate and/or teach in a Christian school or church environment.
  3. Focus on age group specialty programs.
  4. Understand the nature of Religious Education as it has developed historically and functions today.
  5. Appreciate Religious Education as a lifelong process.
  6. Integrate biblical and theological studies with the practical skills of Religious Education.

Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education criteria:  The Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education is designed for the student who wants to pursue a career in the field of Christian Education.  The student must also complete sixteen (16) weeks of a teaching practicum.
